Family reeling after multi-car accidents killed 3, injured 1

A fatal accident left a family that had been gathered only hours beforehand in mourning. After attending an out-of-state family get together, an Ohio couple was hit and killed by a wrong-way driver. Head-on car accidents tend to be especially dangerous and can cause far greater damage and injuries than other types of wrecks.

The married couple and parents of four were driving on the northbound side of I-75 around 3:30 in the morning when tragedy struck. A 30-year-old man was driving south in the northbound lanes and collided with the couple’s vehicle, striking another vehicle in the process. Police received a call reporting a wrong-way vehicle on the interstate just one minute before they received another call to report the crash.

The couple did not survive the devastating accident, and the wrong-way driver was also killed. Police report that the driver of the third vehicle suffered minor injuries, which were treated at an area hospital. The couple’s four children — all of whom are in college — were not with their parents at the time. However, a neighbor described the couple as being focused on their family with a penchant for hosting and attending family functions.

Fatal car accidents often impact more than just the victims’ surviving family members, with the surrounding community also left reeling in the aftermath. When Ohio families achieve compensation through a wrongful death claim, they achieve more than simple financial recourse. Successfully completing this type of suit can create safer, more aware environments for everyone on the road.
