Car accidents: Teenage passengers die when car crashes into tree

by | Dec 4, 2015 | Car Accidents

Too many families have to cope with the deaths of teenage children who have died on Ohio roadways. It is not at all uncommon to read one after another media report of young lives lost in car accidents. Two teens who were passengers in a vehicle were killed in the early morning hours of a recent Wednesday.

The Cincinnati Police Department is investigating the accident, but according to a witness, there appears to be no other vehicle involved. The witness reported he heard the noise of the crash and noticed the wrangled car against a tree. When he went to help, he found two victims lying next to the car on the pavement, seemingly ejected from the car.

One of them died at the accident scene while the other one, along with another passenger and the driver were transported to a hospital. One of the passengers succumbed to his injuries later, and the other one was treated for life-threatening injuries. The 19-year-old driver’s injuries were reportedly not life-threatening.  The two teenagers who died were 14 and 16 years old, and officials said they were brothers.

There is no mention of alcohol or drugs being responsible for this accident. When a driver’s negligence causes injuries or death to passengers in car accidents, the injured victims and the families of the deceased are entitled to pursue financial relief for financial and emotional damages sustained. This can be done by filing personal injury or wrongful death claims in an Ohio civil court. A successfully presented claim with negligence adequately established before the court may lead to monetary judgments against a negligent driver and any separate owner of the vehicle.
