Biography
Carl Sullivan joined Kelley Ferraro in 2022. Prior to joining Kelley Ferraro, he was an Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor within the Major Trial Unit handling Homicide cases. Prior to that, he was the Director of Prosecutions for the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) and the Supervisor for the Human Trafficking Unit. He was a Prosecutor for over thirteen years and worked in ICAC for six.
Prior to being the Director of ICAC, Mr. Sullivan prosecuted cases in Juvenile Court, General Felony and directed the RICO cases against internet cafes and illegal gambling within the office’s Economic Crimes Unit. In ICAC, Mr. Sullivan led the investigation and prosecution of cases ranging from individuals sharing and creating child pornography, grooming children, traveling to meet young children to engage in sexual activity, and oversaw the response to thousands of Cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Mr. Sullivan graduated from John Carroll University with honors in 2005 with a degree in Accountancy. He began clerking at the Prosecutor’s Office that same year while enrolled at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. After graduating law school in 2008, Mr. Sullivan was hired full time into the office where he handled over 300 felony criminal cases a year and in his tenure has tried over 100 criminal cases including over 75 jury trials. Mr. Sullivan has taught multiple Continuing Legal Education classes on varying Economic Crime and Internet Crimes Against Children topics.
Mr. Sullivan also trained detectives and investigators across the state on all issues related to child exploitation on the internet and social media activity. He spoke to parents, teachers, and students weekly not just in Cuyahoga County but in numerous neighboring counties about the dangers and safety measures in place to avoid predators on-line and how to keep children safe in our communities and he also managed the Juvenile Sexting Diversion Program in Cuyahoga County.
Mr. Sullivan currently handles all criminal cases ranging from Misdemeanors, OVI offenses, and Felonies. He has handled thousands of criminal matters on both the prosecution and defense side.
